Description
Redeye Piranha (Serrasalmus rhombeus) is the biggest species in the piranha family. It can be recognized by its large rhombic body, solid dark coloration and sad pensive red eyes. It can grow to be 40 cm (1.3 ft) in length and over 3 kg (6.6 lb) in weight. This is an aggressive predator ready to devour everything it encounters: fish, arthropods, small reptiles and mammals, who found themselves in waters of its habitat. Still, despite its size and omnivory, Redeye Piranha is considered a kinder soul compared to its relatives.
