Starting points
Tiber Rocks!
Just a short lovely stroll further downstream, yet another impressive fishing spot comes into view, welcoming the traveller with glorious splendour of Tiber’s braided streamflow. Located below one of river’s water dams, this is where Tiber becomes shallower and fastens its pace, changing its usual attire of earthen banks to a scenic rocky landscape with small river islands and stone ridges and treating the observer to a series of rocky islands. What a refreshing feast for the eyes on these hot days of late September! And what a fantastic angling location for getting out your spinning rod and going after some Brown Trout, European Grayling and Creek Brown Trout!
Float & Feeder Heaven
As you joyfully walk along the Tiber past the bridge connecting the two banks, you will discover this area of the river’s middle reach. Located in the Italian region of Umbria, known for its medieval towns, dense forests and lovely rolling hills, this is one of Italy’s top spots for feeder and float fishing. Here, near a small groyne, the Tiber’s dark waters are slow-paced and deep, and a knowing angler will discover a marvelous opportunity to fish for Common Carp, Wels Catfish and Crucian Carp while admiring magical views of distant vineyards amidst a mesmerizing pastoral landscape..
Twisty Tiber
Gracefully flowing for over 405 km amidst astonishing scenic landscapes and blinding natural beauty until confluence with the waters of Mediterranean, Tiber is the third longest river in Italy. Naturally, the waterway’s opportunities for angling are unfathomably immense. And yet, any well-wishing insider will take you straight to this particular angling spot on the middle reaches of Tiber’s eastern bank. This picturesque area, surrounded by vast farm fields and beautiful valleys overlooking a dense treeline on the opposite side of the river, is a perfect place to while away the warm September days, indulging in your favorite pastime! As the wide and murky waters peacefully flow, without haste continuing their glorious journey further west, you can catch Common Carp, Common Barbel, Common Roach and Asp, simply watching the world go by.
The Breathy Bridge
One of the most attractive and deep-watered fishing locations in the area is this spot right on the automobile bridge, spanning over Tiber’s vast waters to every so often accommodate lazy traffic, unhurriedly moving across. Here, standing over this deep part of Tiber, you can see the stunning beauty of the surrounding landscape, unraveling before your eyes from up high. What a fantastic spot to let go and indulge in deep breathing as you catch Common Carp, Wels Catfish, European Eel and Common Barbel!
Streaming Beauty
This lovely fishing spot is located right on a small charming stream, where it flows into the Tiber to join the mighty river’s powerful current. Just relax and watch as the little stream joyfully prattles meandering from afar. Its speedy waters merrily emit a steady and harmonious whisper that will hush your weary mind into a deep rejuvenating slumber. Just the perfect spot to enjoy a day of angling, as you fish these shallow waters for Creek Brown Trout, European Grayling and Chub.
Western Tiber
The river’s western bank is generally steep and high, densely grown with luscious trees and thick shrubs. It is here, in this spot surrounded by mesmerizingly scenic landscapes, that you can discover a wonderful fishing location overlooking vast farm fields and beautiful valleys of the opposite shore. Situated near a pedestrian suspension bridge, serving as a pathway across the river’s vast waters, this moderately deep area is one of the best places on Tiber to fish for Common Roach, Crucian Carp, European Perch, Chub and Asp that simply love to hide in their shady lairs, lurking amidst the woody debris and sunken logs.
