Woody Enchantment

Traversed by the remote Neherrin Trail with its countless rocky curves and picturesque ridges, these dense green woods graciously canvas the weary traveler with soothing cool shade, an ideal sanctuary for the worn and tired mind. Into the Rocky Blue

As you progress further downstream, a splendid fishing spot right on a scenic sharp drop-off welcomes you with a beautiful undercut rocky bank descending out of sight into deep cool waters of the Neherrin River. Reflecting the bright late-summer sky in its translucent blue, the spawning river is deep indeed making this a perfect location not only to enjoy the magnificent view, but also catch some Smallmouth Bass, Black Crappie, Redear Sunfish and Bluegill. And if you feel like you had enough water gazing for one day, just look up and rest your sight upon bushy foliage of the luscious green surrounding you as far as the eye can see.

Rubble of Old Times

Rubble of Old Times

There is a story of old times, from about half a century ago, when one rich man from the city set his mind on taking a piece of this pristine natural beauty and taming it for his own use, making a large area restricted to anyone who wanted to fish on the riverbank nearby. He built a summer cottage here and made sure the area was closed off to any unwelcome guests. But the house he built befell countless misfortunes - every storm would end in a tree falling on top of his roof, and every time he fixed his dwelling, it just happened all over again. Eventually the man gave up and left the wooden dwelling in ruins, never to return again. And now, these old wooden debris stand here grown by dense green shrubs as a discreet reminder of nature’s triumph over shrewd men. Since then, this became a National Park and no private property will ever be built here. This means that any angler can freely enjoy the marvelous fishing on this steep bank of Neherrin river, catching countless Panfish and Smallmouth Bass.
