Description
Hybrid F1 Carp (Carassius Carassius × Cyprinus Carpio Carpio) is a freshwater hybrid species that is a cross between Common Carp and Crucian Carp. Although, for the most part, the Hybrid F1 Carp is artificially bred in fisheries all over Great Britain, this fish can occur naturally as well. Distinguishable by its lack of barbles, this hybrid species otherwise bears a strong resemblance in shape to the Common Carp, with its hunched back and large scales. However, the F1 Carp seems to have inherited its golden coloration from the Crucian. Being medium-sized fish, the F1 Carp usually weigh around 0.5 - 1 kg (1-2 lb), with unique specimen reaching up to 2 kg (4 lb). These fish feed primarily on aquatic vegetation, insect larvae and invertebrates.
