Description

Peacock Bass (Cichla Ocellaris) is a popular and colorful game fish, that can be quite the fighter and is a very anticipated catch for any angler. But check this one out… Wow, looks like you didn’t just land a Trophy. This specimen is closer to being a miracle! Imagine, this very Peacock Bass you’re holding somehow managed to live for over 200 years and is a truly historic fish. As you can see from the anchor tag, this Peacock was released into these waters on 4th July 1796, to honor the 20th Anniversary of American Independence along with many other young fish! No doubt about it - the tag bears the release date and President George Washington's signature!
