Description
Сommon Shiner (Luxilus cornutus) is a large species of freshwater minnow, found in the waterways of North America. These fish usually inhabit rocky pools in medium sized rivers. Common Shiners are deep-bodied and slab-sided, with silvery sides and a darker colored back. Adult Common Shiners range in weight between 0.1 - 0.25 kg (3.5 - 7 oz), and feed predominantly on various aquatic invertebrates and some terrestrial insects.
