Brown Bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) is a popular gamefish that is widely spread in North America. It is similar to Channel Catfish, however smaller in size and has a square caudal fin. Brown Bullheads thrive in a variety of habitats, including warm lakes and ponds with low oxygen level, muddy water and aquatic vegetation. They can grow to 55 cm (23 in) in length and weigh up to 2.7 kg (6 lbs). Brown Bullheads are nocturnal bottom feeders that feed on algae, plants, mollusks, insects, fish eggs and fish.
