Description
Azov shad (Alosa tanaica) is a freshwater fish of the herring family that adapts to various conditions, including brackish water and sudden temperature changes. From early May, when the water warms up to 59°F(+15°C), until early June, Azov shad spawns in the Dnipro, seeking the rapid current. Historically, Azov shad has been of significant economic importance for the Kherson region and an essential source of income. The people of Kherson simply love this fish!
