White Crappie (Pomoxis annularis), is a freshwater fish native to North America, that was successfully introduced to many other countries. This species is typically found in warm murky (turbid) rivers and lakes. Its body is silvery in color with dark lateral bars along its side and a white belly. White Crappies can grow to 53 cm (21 in) in length and weigh up to 2.5 kg (5.5 lb), but are usually around 25-35 cm (9-14 in) and 0.5-0.9 kg (1-2 lb). Adult White Crappie tend to feed on small fish and insects.
