Redear Sunfish (Lepomis microlophus) is native to the southeastern United States. Due to its popularity as sport fish, it has been introduced all over North America. The species resembles the bluegill except for larger size and a dark olive-green body with yellow shades on the lower sides, and whitish on the belly. Redear Sunfish have a natural diet consisting of mollusks and snails.
