Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) is the largest species of salmon along with Chinook. It is found primarily in the northern Atlantic Ocean and rivers that flow into the north Atlantic. Adult Atlantic Salmon can be identified by their silvery-blue bodies with black spots above the lateral line. Their average weight usually ranges from 5 to 15 kg (11 to 33 lb), but if you are lucky, you might land a specimen weighing as much as 25 kg (55 lb). Fully grown Atlantic Salmon feed primarily on other fish.
